Building Mechanical Engineering Technology

This programme teaches students to design, install, and maintain complex mechanical systems in buildings. Work includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and automated building controls. The focus is on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and environmental protection.

Students gain hands-on experience through two paid co-op placements during their studies. These occur over summer periods between academic sessions and can total up to six months of real-world work. Modern lab equipment and industry-standard software are used in classrooms that simulate actual job environments.

The programme leads to a DEC in Building Mechanical Engineering Technology. It prepares students for immediate employment or further study at the university level. Graduates often find jobs in construction firms, consulting engineering offices, hospitals, universities, and public buildings.
