Blanket Peatland Restoration

The programme explores the scientific principles of blanket peatland ecosystems and the techniques required to restore them, including carbon-sequestration functions and hydrological balance. Week-by-week you attend a 2.5-hour lecture, complete 8-10 hours of self-directed learning, and take part in a lecturer-led workshop that combines GIS training with a field visit to an impacted blanket bog where you gather data for a restoration-plan assignment.
