Research in this doctoral programme covers evolutionary biology, behavioural ecology, population ecology, molecular and community ecology, adaptation to northern environments, genetics of adaptations, evolutionary genetics, developmental biology, and biotechnological applications. All research is connected to conservation biology. Studies total 25 credits and include general and transferable skills components alongside field-specific courses. The programme is designed as four years of full-time study beginning in January 2026 at the University of Oulu in Oulu.
