The Master's programme in Biology at the Technical University of Munich covers a broad range of biological research fields, including molecular biology, biochemistry, immunobiology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, morphology, taxonomy, animal and plant physiology, behavioural biology, ecology, neurobiology, and the neuronal foundations of behaviour. The programme draws on approximately 200 modules in the life sciences across seven focus areas: biochemistry and cell biology, genetics, medical biology, microbiology, ecology, plant sciences, and zoology and animal sciences. Students tailor their course selection to their own interests, building on qualifications from prior study. Teaching formats include lectures, seminars, exercise modules, internships, and excursions. A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on experience in small groups, particularly during research internships within scientist groups, where 1:1 supervision is provided. The programme runs four semesters and starts in the winter semester. The programme is offered at the Technical University of Munich campus in Freising, Germany.
