This program integrates engineering and life sciences, focusing on both molecular and macroscopic aspects of biomedical engineering. MS students complete foundational coursework, seminars, and typically four to five additional courses in engineering and life sciences, alongside research course enrollment each semester.

Focus areas include biomedical instrumentation, drug delivery, design, and metabolism, biomaterials, computational and systems biology, medical biomechanics.

MS students complete the Foundations in Biomedical Engineering course, two semesters of seminars, and typically four to five additional courses in engineering and life sciences. Enrollment in a research course is expected each semester through graduation.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a science with demonstrated knowledge in advanced mathematics, calculus-based physics, and introductory computer science. Required documents include three recommendations, and GRE scores are not accepted. All Graduate School requirements, including English proficiency, must be met.
