The Master's programme in Biochemical Engineering with a specialisation in Biopharmaceutical Engineering at TU Dortmund University focuses on the interpretation of process data to improve the production of biopharmaceuticals and cell products. Students learn to design and operate complex pharmaceutical production systems using mathematical models and computer tools for simulation and optimisation. The programme covers process development and monitoring methods, as well as regulatory requirements in drug production including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), serialisation guidelines, and anti-counterfeiting measures. It runs over 4 semesters starting in the winter semester. Applicants from certain countries, including India and China, must have their academic certificates reviewed by the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) of the German Embassy before applying in Germany.
