The Mathematics major includes a capstone experience where you apply analysis, algebra, differential equations and optimisation to real-world problems drawn from industry, science and government. This practical focus sits within a flexible three-year structure that lets you combine a major with electives, minors or a second major.

Each week you will attend lectures, tutorial problem sessions and labs, work on modelling projects, and develop proof techniques and computational skills. The workload is around 48 hours per week, mixing classroom time with independent study and occasional placements.

Ideal for students who enjoy logical reasoning and quantitative analysis.
