The Textile and Material Engineering program prepares students for careers in the global textile industry, with a curriculum centered on sustainability and the ongoing transformation of the textile and fashion sector. Core subject matter includes textile materials, manufacturing processes from fibres to finished products, textile recycling, circular economy, and quality, supply chain, and project management. Natural sciences — mathematics, chemistry, and physics — provide the engineering foundation. Elective studies allow students to broaden their expertise into areas such as business, entrepreneurship, or environmental engineering. Teaching methods include contact sessions, online learning, project work, independent study, laboratory exercises, and industry collaboration. Practical training is an integral part of the degree, providing direct industry experience and supporting thesis work and future employment. Students may also complete part of their studies or practical training abroad through exchange. The program starts in September 2026 and runs for 4 years at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Tampere, Finland.
