The Minotaur Theatre Company, a student-run theatre group, stages regular productions in the Drama Studio, giving you hands-on experience of performance, technical work and script-writing. Through modules such as Experiments in Genre, Technical Theatre 1 and The Actor’s Craft, you study both creative writing for stage, screen and radio and practical drama skills, while exploring global theatre traditions. You will also benefit from workshops led by the university’s award-winning creative writing team and from technical theatre training that prepares you for independent work in the studio.

Past graduates include actors such as Matt Smith and Olivia Vinall, radio presenter Greg James and playwright Tom Morton-Smith, showing the degree’s link to professional networks. The course also offers a study-abroad semester, placements, and access to Norwich’s arts scene, which includes numerous galleries, theatres and festivals, supporting a range of careers from scriptwriting and directing to journalism, teaching and media.
