Applied Fire Safety Management

Graduates take up roles such as Fire Safety Manager, building manager or owner, and find positions across the education sector, health service, hospitality industry, local authorities and retail. The certificate meets the obligations of the Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act and the Fire Services Act, allowing holders to demonstrate compliance with statutory fire safety requirements.

The programme targets individuals who have achieved a Level 6 NFQ qualification or an equivalent recognised prior learning award, and who preferably have experience in facilities management or building maintenance. Study is fully online, delivered over eight weeks on a part-time basis. Teaching consists of a three-day intensive lecture block, six weekly tutorials and blended online support. Assessment combines coursework and a final examination. On successful completion learners receive a ten-credit Certificate in Applied Fire Safety Management.
