Agriculture Finance

Agriculture finance sits at the intersection of farming and the broader financial sector, addressing questions such as how to fund farm expansions, manage commodity-price risk, and design tax-efficient investment structures. This two-year post-graduate diploma delivers an applied understanding of financial services tailored to agricultural businesses, encompassing agribusiness consulting, farm taxation, credit analysis, risk management and investment strategies. Learning is reinforced through case studies, financial simulations and role-playing exercises that develop analytical and client-interaction skills.

Graduates are prepared for positions such as agricultural lender, agribusiness financial analyst, bank supervisor, commercial banker, investment advisor or financial planner. Employers include banks, credit unions, farm credit institutions, agribusiness firms and government agencies, all of which seek professionals able to assess credit risk and provide strategic financial advice. The programme also prepares candidates for the Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) compliance exams, widening opportunities across the financial services sector.

The diploma is completed over two years of full-time study.
