Graduates are prepared for roles in advanced therapy medicinal product manufacturing, including cell-processing, quality-control and regulatory positions such as Qualified Person, as well as research posts or further study in related biopharmaceutical fields.

A distinctive feature of the programme is the dedicated module on EU Qualified Person certification, which provides detailed coverage of QP responsibilities and the regulatory differences between the EU and US for ATMPs.

The course runs part-time over one year and is delivered online. It comprises six mandatory modules – Introduction to ATMPs, Molecular Engineering, Cell Processing 1, Biocontamination Monitoring and Control, Cell Processing 2 with QC – totalling 25 credits, plus two elective modules (QP certification and Research Methods Biopharma) worth 5 credits each, reaching the required 30 credits at Level 9.
