Tourism Futures Studies at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences is a Master of Science programme designed around three stages covering foundation knowledge, advanced cross-disciplinary studies, and a research thesis. The programme examines tourism from perspectives drawn from art, literature, media, history, activism, policy innovation, and ethical theory, with particular attention to futures thinking, digital transformation, and leadership in the tourism sector. The programme can run over three or four semesters depending on the student's starting credit total. The foundation stage in semester one introduces the core issues of tourism futures, leadership, and digital transformation. Semester two advances students' expertise through a cross-disciplinary futures project and further research methods training. Semester three is an optional period that can be used for study or internship abroad, and semester four broadens personal skills and hosts the master's thesis, which is ideally anchored in a real situation within an international tourism organisation or company. Tuition fees are 3,000 EUR per year. The programme is taught entirely in English and is based at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences in Heilbronn, Germany.
