About BA Sustainable Tourism

At Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, applications close 15 Jul.

Sustainable Tourism is a seven-semester Bachelor's programme that equips students to address the economic, socio-cultural, and ecological dimensions of global tourism. The programme draws on tourism studies, sustainability, sociology, economics, and ecology to develop graduates capable of shaping the transformation of the global tourism industry. The curriculum progresses from foundational modules in tourism management, business administration, sustainability, and geography in the first two semesters through applied topics such as sustainable marketing, mobility, sustainability accounting, change management for destinations, digitalisation, and tourism ethics in subsequent semesters. Students also cover empirical methods, sustainable finance, international relations, law, and event management. The sixth semester consists of an internship or semester abroad, and the final semester is dedicated to the Bachelor's thesis, a sustainable impact camp project, and the thesis colloquium. The programme runs over 7 semesters with intake in the winter semester. The programme is offered at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Germany.
