About the Program

Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies (SuRE) is a 24-month programme covering the full spectrum of renewable energy technologies, from solar and wind to system integration. The curriculum is built around core scientific principles of renewable energy, energy economics, energy meteorology, systems modelling, and sustainability assessment. The programme is structured over 4 semesters starting in the winter semester. The first semester covers scientific fundamentals of all renewable energy technologies through lectures, seminars, labs, and an excursion. The second semester deepens knowledge in a chosen specialisation (Wind Energy, Solar Energy, or System Integration of Renewable Energy) alongside sustainability of renewable energy systems and laboratory work. The third semester includes an external internship of approximately 200 hours alongside modules on resilient energy systems and other renewable energy technologies. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, which is oriented toward the student's professional interests and the experience gained during the internship. The programme is offered at the University of Oldenburg in Oldenburg, Germany.
