About Sustainable Building Design

This course covers the principles and tools needed to design and assess buildings from an energy and sustainability perspective. Students study building physics, indoor comfort from a human-centred view, and the use of simulation software for constructing energy models. Discussions engage with design solutions shaped by cultural, climatic, and political contexts. By the end of the course, participants can analyse buildings as physical systems, assess indoor comfort based on user needs, explore design concepts related to indoor climate and energy efficiency, and use a software design tool to evaluate strategic design choices.
