This programme prepares students for licensure as superintendents and district administrators through a research-based approach grounded in Wisconsin administrative standards. Students engage in applied research and field-based learning under the guidance of licensed superintendents. The curriculum emphasizes ethical leadership, policy development, and practical experience in real school district settings. Coursework integrates legal, financial, and human resource management competencies essential for district-level leadership.

Focus areas include Ethical and Inclusive Leadership, Political and Policy Leadership, School District Law, K-12 Human Resource Management, School District Budget and Finance, Curriculum and Instruction.

The programme requires 30 credits distributed across coursework, three practicum courses, and a portfolio. Students complete a dissertation focused on applied research relevant to their leadership role.

Graduates pursue licensed roles as superintendents, district administrators, and school business administrators in public and private K-12 school districts.

Applicants must hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 GPA. They must provide evidence of a Wisconsin teacher or pupil services license and relevant professional experience. Required documents include official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a letter of intent, and a resume.

The programme totals about 30 credit hours. Virtual, part-time, 18 months from start to completion. For international students, tuition is below the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 95% of applicants.
