Engineering programmes combine technical education with practical design experiences connected to New York City’s engineering and technology sectors. Riverdale provides a quieter campus base in the Bronx, with tree-lined streets, cafés, and a strong campus feel. Van Cortlandt Park, covering more than 1,100 acres, is nearby. Midtown Manhattan is around 30 minutes away, giving students access to internships, museums, entertainment, cultural institutions, and networking opportunities. More than 80 clubs and organisations support involvement beyond classes, while the city and the Bronx provide opportunities to explore culture, history, food, and innovation.

This programme is designed for students committed to teaching elementary students with and without disabilities. It combines undergraduate and graduate study to lead to dual certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities, Grades 1-6. Students complete four graduate courses as undergraduates and finish a master's degree in one additional year. Fieldwork occurs in urban and suburban schools across the New York City metro area.

Focus areas include Inclusive Teaching Expertise, Assessment and IEP Skills, Literacy and Content Methods, Foundations in Special Education, Extensive Classroom Fieldwork, Dual Certification Ready.

The programme requires 154 credits and spans five years. Students complete undergraduate coursework, take four graduate-level courses as seniors, and finish a master's degree with one additional year of study. Fieldwork and student teaching are completed in real classrooms across the New York City area.

Graduates qualify for New York State certification to teach students with and without disabilities in grades 1-6 across public, private, and specialized school settings.

Applicants must submit an application, official transcripts, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation. SAT/ACT scores are optional. International students receive support for visas and English-language assessments.

The programme totals about 154 credit hours. On-campus, full-time, five years. For international students, tuition is well above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 78% of applicants.
