Master in Space Engineering

The MSc in Space Engineering at the University of Bremen is a four-semester programme providing broad theoretical and practical knowledge in modern space technologies. The first two semesters build solid foundations across core engineering disciplines. The third and fourth semesters open into a broad portfolio of elective courses, a project, and the master's thesis, allowing students to shape an individual curriculum. Specialisation tracks include human space exploration, space robotics, and sustainability in space applications, among others. Compulsory modules cover space flight theory, space environment and testing, satellite systems, and subsystems. One course is delivered by the concurrent engineering facility of the local DLR institute. Elective modules address specific satellite mission applications. The programme is delivered in English and hosted by the faculty of production engineering, with contributions from departments of physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer science. Applicants must complete an online entrance exam covering engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics, held one to two weeks after the application deadline. The programme starts in both winter and summer semesters. It is offered at the University of Bremen in Bremen, Germany.
