Collegium Civitas offers a bachelor's programme in Sociology, delivered in English in Warszawa, Poland, over 3 years (6 semesters), with a yearly tuition of PLN 7100. The curriculum explores questions such as who watches reality shows and why, where leaders come from, what matrimonial advertisements reveal about changes in social customs and morality, what gender means as a social category, and why the Slow Life Movement has grown in popularity. Through the programme, students come to understand the importance of civil society and social activity, learning to diagnose social problems and design and implement strategies to address them. Coursework also builds skills in recognising the target group of a product or advertisement, framing questions that produce useful answers, and diagnosing and anticipating social and marketing trends. Areas of study include social communication theories and new media mechanisms, social structures and the formation of social institutions, psychology and its practical applications, and theories of interpersonal relationships. On the practical side, students gain experience designing and implementing social and marketing research projects using varied data collection techniques, analysing and interpreting data, defining priorities and organising work, writing reports, presenting findings, resolving social conflicts, and public speaking. This mix of theoretical and applied skills is meant to let graduates work comfortably in organisations ranging from small companies to large corporations, or to start their own businesses.
