The Religion major emphasizes critical analysis of religious traditions using academic methods. Students engage with diverse global religious systems beyond Euro-American Christian contexts. They develop research and writing skills through a senior colloquium and a self-designed thematic concentration. Graduates pursue careers in education, non-profit work, religious institutions, and public service, often using analytical and ethical reasoning skills developed through the programme.

Students must complete REL 200 before their senior year. A proposal for a self-designed concentration must be approved by a department faculty member by the middle of the junior year. No more than one 100-level course counts toward the major.

The programme totals about 30 credit hours. On-campus, full-time, typically completed in four years. For international students, tuition is well above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 17% of applicants.
