The Religion major emphasizes critical analysis of religious traditions using academic methods. Students engage with diverse global religious systems beyond Euro-American Christian contexts. They develop research and writing skills through a senior colloquium and a self-designed thematic concentration. Students must complete REL 200 before their senior year. A proposal for a self-designed concentration must be approved by a department faculty member by the middle of the junior year. No more than one 100-level course counts toward the major.
