Bachelor in Psychology

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes, covering how people think, feel, and act individually and in social contexts. Students typically study general psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, biological psychology, and research methods and statistics, building both theoretical understanding and the empirical skills needed to design and interpret psychological research. As the curriculum advances, students often encounter specialized areas such as clinical psychology, personality theory, abnormal psychology, and psychological testing, which introduce them to the assessment and understanding of mental health and individual differences. Laboratory and research components are common, giving students hands-on experience with experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis relevant to psychological science. The breadth of the discipline means graduates can pursue varied career paths, including roles in human resources, market research, education, social services, and further clinical training, with many students continuing into graduate study to become licensed practitioners in clinical, counseling, or organizational psychology. This program is taught in English over 4 years at Fenerbahçe University in İstanbul, Turkey, allowing students to study psychological theory and methods within an international academic setting. The 4-year bachelor's degree builds from foundational psychology and research methods courses toward more applied and specialized topics in later years. English-medium instruction is suited to students aiming for international graduate study or careers that require English proficiency, while the İstanbul setting offers access to a large and diverse population relevant to psychological research and practice. Throughout the program, students develop analytical, research, and interpersonal skills applicable across clinical, organizational, and academic settings.
