This programme, the Deutsch-französisches Studienprogramm Geschichte, involves the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, the Institut für Europäische Geschichte (IEG) Mainz, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); these institutions are where alumni have done further study after graduating from Bielefeld. The programme extends students' exposure to history beyond traditional boundaries, with alumni pursuing a range of careers from academia to consultancy in heritage management.
