The Philosophy B.A. at Manhattan University prepares students for law, business, public service, and graduate study through rigorous training in reasoning and argumentation. Students engage with historical and contemporary thinkers in small, discussion-based classes. The program emphasizes ethical judgment, critical analysis, and clear communication. It is offered as a standalone degree or as a minor with cross-listed courses.

Focus areas include ethics, bioethics, professional ethics, political philosophy, history of ideas, philosophy of art and religion.

The B.A. requires 30 credits, including core courses in ethics, logic, ancient and modern philosophy, a senior seminar, and five electives. The minor requires 15 credits with a selection of foundational and elective courses.

Graduates enter law school, graduate programs, public service, nonprofit work, and careers in business and advocacy.

Applicants must submit an application, transcript, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. SAT/ACT scores are optional. Early Action deadline is November 15, Regular Decision is February 1. International students receive support for visas and English-language assessments.
