PhD in Ph.D. student

Students will thrive at this PhD programme if they are interested in the intersection of meritocracy and care in university systems. The PhD examines how the paradigm of care can critically examine the meritocratic paradigm, with a specific focus on how it can reconceptualize and redefine university systems. This research will compare university systems in Europe, the United States, South Korea, and Brazil, with a particular emphasis on the governance systems and their legitimizing discourses. The project's scope includes an examination of European Union policies and specific regulations, such as the European Commission’s Scoping Report Towards a Reform of the Research Assessment System.
