Bachelor in Music Production (BA)

The BA Music Production programme at SRH University is built around the creative and technical demands of making music, from initial ideas through to performance or finished production. Its central focus is the combination of sound engineering content with artistic training in composition and instrumental or vocal music. Students work in studios and on DAWs from the first semester, gaining hands-on experience across all relevant functions and roles in the music production process. The curriculum runs over 7 semesters and spans recording techniques, music theory, harmony, digital techniques, songwriting, composition, studio techniques, arrangement, production, sound design, orchestration, and film and game audio. Each semester includes a practical project, an instrument major or ensemble component, and a selection of elective topics. The seventh semester culminates in a portfolio development module, a production management course, and the Bachelor's thesis. An internship or study abroad period is scheduled in the fifth semester. Weekly workshops cover subjects such as songwriting and sound engineering, and live panels bring in music editors, producers, label representatives, and publishers. These activities give students regular opportunities to perform in front of an audience and build professional connections within the music industry. Professors and lecturers come from across the live and recording sectors. The programme is offered in Berlin, with an additional location in Munich.
