Bachelor in Medientechnologie (Bachelor)

Students on the Bachelor in Medientechnologie at TH Köln study modules like Technologie der photographischen Bildgebung and Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen, building analytical skills and a solid understanding of technical systems. The programme is hosted at the Institute für Medien- und Phototechnik.

Students explore how electronic images are captured, how audio and video signals are structured, and how human perception of sound and light works. Practical application and theoretical understanding are combined, as are technical, design and perceptual perspectives.

The programme includes a project phase where students work in teams to develop applications, and a practical semester in industry. Students may also choose to spend a semester abroad at one of TH Köln’s partner universities. The programme offers an optional minor in Medienethik und Gesellschaft.
