The programme runs over two years of part-time, online study and is organised into four semesters. In the first semester students build a foundation with Energy Operations and Utilities Management, which covers climate change, sustainability, energy standards and ISO 50001, followed by Industrial Networks 1 where basic industrial data networking and TCP/IP configuration are introduced. The second semester shifts focus to Operations Management, exploring process design, supply-chain concepts and lean techniques, while Mathematics 4 reinforces analytical skills needed for engineering modelling. A further module, Industrial Networks 2, deepens knowledge of VLANs, Industrial Ethernet protocols and network security, completing the technical core. Graduates typically move into roles such as energy analyst, utility manager, automation engineer, network specialist or operations manager in sectors including power generation, manufacturing, telecommunications and consulting. Employers range from multinational engineering firms and national utilities to specialised technology providers. The qualification also provides a route to professional registration with engineering bodies and offers a solid basis for doctoral research or further specialist study.
