Master in Mathematics

This second-level (master's) degree in Mathematics is offered by Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Poland, taught in English, with annual tuition of 14500 PLN. The two-year programme covers calculus, complex and functional analysis, logic, algebra and number theory, topology, differential equations, stochastic processes, and computational mathematics using software packages such as Mathematica and Statistica. Students are also prepared to continue their studies toward a doctoral degree should they choose an academic path after graduation. The programme offers two orientations. A graduate following the applied mathematics track acquires basic knowledge in theoretical and applied mathematics, gaining the ability to construct mathematical proofs, present and formulate mathematical problems, investigate mathematical models used in applications, and apply information technology skills; such graduates are prepared to work in commercial and financial companies, computing centers, and statistical offices. A graduate following the financial mathematics track instead builds knowledge in theoretical and applied mathematics as it relates to economics and finance, developing the ability to formulate and prove mathematical results, build and estimate mathematical models, and predict and simulate economic processes; graduates from this track are prepared for financial management roles and can apply their IT skills in financial companies, banks, stock markets, insurance firms, and other commercial industries.
