Applied Mathematics is a master's degree program at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, delivered in Wrocław, Poland, over three semesters and taught in English, with yearly tuition of 4000 EUR. The curriculum is oriented toward real-life applications and industrial problems, with the goal of preparing specialists for work in international financial institutions or enterprises, as well as for any setting where creative mathematical thinking is needed. The program offers four main specialties: Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, Mathematics for Industry and Commerce, Data Engineering, and Modelling, Simulation and Optimization. First-semester coursework includes subjects such as Economathematics, Partial Differential Equations with Applications in Physics and Industry, and Life Insurance Models, alongside elective and language courses; the second semester includes Optimization Theory and Agent-based Modelling of Complex Systems, again alongside electives. Applied mathematics as a discipline uses mathematical methods, statistics, and computational tools to solve problems in finance, engineering, industry, and the sciences. The MSc diploma offers an opportunity to continue toward doctoral studies. Applicants need a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field such as applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or engineering, obtained in Poland or abroad, with each application assessed individually. English proficiency is required at a level equivalent to a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 87 points or an IELTS score of 6.5 points, and a list of accepted certificates is available online.
