About the Program

This Master's programme in Urban Management addresses the most pressing challenges of urban development, including environmental degradation, uncontrolled urban growth, insecure land tenure, substandard living conditions, inadequate local planning, climate mitigation and adaptation, and urban infrastructure such as mobility. The curriculum is structured across three semesters. The first semester establishes a shared knowledge base covering urbanisation, concepts of sustainable development, public administration and governance, project management, methodology, urban economics, and urban planning. The second semester builds on this through core areas of urban management including environmental management, urban planning techniques, mobility, and housing. The third semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, which may be prepared in the student's home country. The programme runs for 3 semesters starting in the winter semester and carries an annual tuition of 7,334 EUR. It is offered at Technische Universität Berlin in Berlin.
