The Master of Applied Computing program emphasizes theory and practice in computing. Students apply classroom knowledge to projects, capstone work, or co-op placements. The program focuses on mobile, enterprise, data mining, and machine learning applications. Graduates develop technical skills for real-world technology solutions.

Nine courses for coursework options; four courses plus thesis for thesis option; seven courses plus co-op placement for co-op option. Duration ranges from 16 to 36 months depending on option. Co-op and thesis options available at Waterloo campus.

Graduates enter careers such as data scientist, data architect, mobile app developer, senior web developer, software developer, and software project manager.

A 4-year honours degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. Must include courses in data structures, object-oriented language, programming, and software engineering. Minimum B+ final year GPA and B+ cumulative average in computer science courses. International applicants must meet English proficiency requirements.

On-campus (Brantford or Waterloo) or online. Full-time or part-time options available. Co-op and thesis options only at Waterloo.
