Master Mecanique — M1 - Mechanics

Institut polytechnique de Paris offers Master Mecanique, with its first year, M1 Mechanics, taught in French at the institute's Palaiseau Cedex site. Mechanics is a branch of physics and engineering concerned with the motion of bodies and the forces that act upon them, covering both the theoretical principles of how objects and materials behave under stress, motion, and load, and the practical applications of these principles in engineering design. Students in a program of this kind typically study solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, dynamics, and the mathematical methods used to model physical systems, alongside coursework on materials behavior and structural analysis. Coursework often includes the study of how structures respond to forces, the simulation of mechanical systems using computational methods, and the principles behind the design of machines, vehicles, and structures. Many programs in this area also introduce experimental methods for testing mechanical properties of materials and systems, preparing students for research or engineering roles that require a strong grounding in applied physics. Graduates commonly pursue careers in mechanical and aerospace engineering, automotive design, structural engineering, or research roles in laboratories studying materials and mechanical systems. As the M1, this track represents the first year of a two-year master's degree at Institut polytechnique de Paris, beginning in September, with annual tuition of 250 EUR.
