This programme focuses on the analysis of communication processes and media systems through theoretical and research-based study. Students engage with media content, audience reception, and the social impact of communication technologies. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and empirical research in media contexts. It is structured around core courses in communication theory and research methods.

The major requires nine courses, including one at the 100-level, one at the 200-level, three at the 300-level, one at the 400-level, and one course at any level. Core courses must be completed by the end of the sophomore year.

Graduates pursue roles in media research, public relations, content development, and communication analysis in nonprofit, corporate, and educational settings.

Students must declare the major and complete COMM 280 and COMM 290 by the end of their sophomore year. No specific GPA or test scores are required for admission to the major.
