The Licence - Histoire (Degree in History) provides a systematic study of past societies, events, and structures from antiquity to the contemporary period, with particular attention to European and world history. Students develop skills in source analysis, historical methodology, critical argumentation, and archival research, learning to handle primary documents as well as the historiographic debates that surround them. Modules draw on political, social, cultural, and economic history, and students are introduced to the theoretical frameworks that historians use to interpret the past, from social history to cultural history to the history of ideas.
