Bachelor in Leather and Textile Engineering

Zweibrücken, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Leather and Textile Engineering bachelor's programme at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences offers a research- and application-oriented education covering materials science, chemistry, design, and production technology across two sectors: leather and textiles. The programme is available with a bilingual track (German first two semesters) or an English track, and students choose a specialisation — Textile Engineering or Leather and Shoe Engineering — at enrolment, with the option to change this until the end of the fourth semester. The first two semesters cover natural sciences, engineering fundamentals, and the basics of both industries. From the third semester onward, study concentrates on the chosen specialisation, though overlapping modules continue jointly. Practical and Bachelor's theses may be written in German or English. The programme runs over six semesters, starting in the winter semester, and is based at Campus Pirmasens. Graduates are prepared for technical roles in quality management, materials development, and product development, and the programme also qualifies students for research activities and progression to a consecutive Master's or doctoral programme. The programme is offered by Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences in Pirmasens.
