Master in International Master's Programme in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science

Geodesy and Geoinformation Science is an engineering discipline grounded in mathematics and natural sciences. This programme trains students to develop and apply methods across engineering measurement, satellite geodesy, planet and Earth system research, computer vision, and 3D/4D modelling using geographic information systems. Key focus areas include acquisition, analysis, fusion, compression and visualisation of spatially referenced data; geographic information systems and geodatabase systems; Earth system and planetary research; high-precision navigation and positioning; geodetic sensor technology and deformation analysis; digital image processing and remote sensing; and gravity field analysis and satellite orbit determination. The programme runs over 4 semesters, beginning in the winter semester. The first semester covers fundamentals including geoinformatics, adjustment theory, space geodesy, geodatabases and photogrammetric computer vision. The second and third semesters offer specialisation in one of four tracks: Geoinformation Technology, Space Geodesy and Navigation, Engineering Surveying and Estimation Theory, or Computer Vision and Remote Sensing, alongside multidisciplinary electives. The fourth semester is reserved for the Master's thesis. The programme is taught at Technische Universität Berlin in Berlin, Germany.
