About the Program

The Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg is an interdisciplinary programme drawing on computer science and electrical engineering. Embedded systems are a particular focus of the programme. Other areas of study span networks and digital communication, and media processing systems, with mandatory modules from each of these three areas. Students also select elective modules from the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science, and from across the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Sciences. The four-semester programme accepts students in both winter and summer semesters. Alongside lectures, students complete a lab course, a seminar, a Master's thesis with presentation, and a research project. The programme benefits from collaboration between the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Communication and the Department of Computer Science, as well as links with two Fraunhofer Institutes specialising in ICT. Students have the opportunity to participate in current research projects. The programme is offered at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in Erlangen, Germany.
