Introduction

On LTU’s Southfield campus, students learn with technology, project-based coursework, and facilities connected to fields such as engineering, advanced manufacturing, data, design, and health sciences. Campus life includes four housing units, more than 100 student organizations, athletics, tours, and events. Lawrence Technological University began in 1932, when Henry and Edsel Ford helped launch the school by providing guidance and space in a former Model T assembly plant. Its approach connects theory and practice, taking abstract ideas into real-world problem solving. The university’s five colleges provide programs in architecture and design, arts and sciences, business and IT, engineering, and health sciences. Offerings include certificates, undergraduate and graduate degrees, integrated bachelor’s and master’s programs, and doctoral study. Health sciences programs include Nursing, Physician Assistant studies, and Cardiovascular Perfusion.

International students use the same application as U.S. students. LTU offers online and campus-based study through Specs@LTU, with media programs that combine current technology, hands-on experience, specialized equipment, and project work. About the Program

Students work on industry-sponsored projects that solve real problems in product development, processes, and systems. They apply engineering principles to design and optimize workflows, supply chains, and manufacturing operations. Courses include hands-on labs in materials, simulation, and facility layout using current technologies. The programme integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience through team-based design and analysis tasks.

Focus areas include Operations Research, Supply Chain and Logistics, Quality and Reliability, Work Design and Measurement, Simulation in System Design, Industrial Manufacturing Processes.

The programme requires 120 total credits, distributed across core engineering, mathematics, science, technical electives, and senior capstone projects. Students complete industry-sponsored projects and applied labs throughout the curriculum.

Graduates enter roles in manufacturing, logistics, operations management, and process improvement within industrial and service organizations.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Required documents include official transcripts and standardized test scores. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for admission.

The programme totals about 120 credit hours. On-campus and online options available; full-time study typically takes four years. For international students, tuition is above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 80% of applicants.
