Bachelor in Humanities Meta-Major

Students who graduate from the Humanities Meta-Major are well-prepared for careers in industries such as education, writing, journalism, and publishing, or for further study in the humanities. The Humanities Meta-Major, offered at all five Ohio University regional campuses, is a program for students who are interested in humanities-related fields but haven't decided on a specific major. During this time, students can explore courses in various humanities fields, including English, history, philosophy, languages, art, and religious studies, to narrow down their interests and select a major. While most students choose a major within the first year, they can take up to 60 semester credit hours before declaring a major. Students will receive the necessary advising and support to declare a major in the social sciences that aligns with their academic goals.
