About the Program

The Graduate Diploma in Accounting at Wilfrid Laurier University is a non-degree program for students who have completed a Laurier undergraduate accounting program. This 12-week program in English builds on students’ existing knowledge and provides a structured path to the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Students gain technical and enabling competencies required by CPAs.

The curriculum consists of five courses that cover the CPA competency map, including Financial Statement Analysis, Management Controls, Integrated Cases in Accounting, Advanced Auditing, and Taxation III. These courses are designed and delivered by research faculty and experienced industry professionals. Students must attain a minimum grade of 70% in each course to gain advanced standing in the CPA Professional Education Program.

Graduates can pursue careers as Chartered Professional Accountants, Financial Analysts, Auditors, Tax Consultants, or Financial Controllers. They can work in public accounting firms, private industry, or government agencies, applying their technical and enabling skills to succeed in their careers.
