Graduates are qualified to work in environmental science roles such as environmental scientist or conservation biologist. The programme combines field studies with classroom learning in an interdisciplinary approach. Students conduct research and restoration projects on campus and at off-site locations including the Susquehanna River and Appalachian Trail. A semester-long study abroad option is available at the Quetzal Education Research Center in Costa Rica.

Focus areas include herpetology, ornithology, plant taxonomy and systematics, restoration ecology, tropical biology, marine biology.

The B.S. in Environmental Science requires a total of 120 credits. Coursework includes laboratory and field components, with opportunities for research, internships, and study abroad. The programme includes a capstone research experience.

Graduates enter roles such as environmental scientist, wildlife manager, or conservation biologist in government agencies, non-profits, or research institutions.
