Master in Environmental and Resource Management (MSc)

The Environmental and Resource Management MSc provides a broad, integrated approach to environmental and resource management, drawing on engineering, natural science, management, and socioeconomics. Students choose one of three specialisations when applying: environmental sciences, environmental economics and planning and law, or environmental engineering. The programme spans 4 semesters starting in the winter semester. All students complete two mandatory modules: an introduction module and a study project requiring collaborative, practice-oriented work. Within their chosen specialisation, students select a minimum of seven modules, and must also complete five compulsory elective modules from any specialisation. Environmental sciences modules include applied ecology, environmental modelling, and hydrology. Environmental economics and planning and law modules cover topics such as international environmental law, cost-benefit analysis, and municipal solid waste management. Environmental engineering modules address numerical simulation, renewable energy technologies, and wastewater treatment, among others. Students may also spend one semester at a partner university abroad without extending their study duration.
