OTH Regensburg

Master in Electrical and Microsystems Engineering

Regensburg, Germany Taught in German Open to international students

About the Program

The MEng in Electrical and Microsystems Engineering at OTH Regensburg is a 3-semester programme with intakes in both the winter and summer semester. It covers electrical engineering and microsystems engineering, with a foundation course catalogue organised across three subject groups: semiconductor technology, optoelectronics, and microelectronics. Beyond this foundation, students make largely personal choices from a consolidation course catalogue — including options such as LED technology, advanced packaging, cybernetics, and electron product engineering — and from an interdisciplinary catalogue covering areas such as international empowerment, business studies for engineers, and quality and reliability. Sensor technology and semiconductor technology are identified as key focus areas, reflecting the concentration of relevant industry in the Regensburg and Bavaria region. The programme includes a special project and a Master's thesis, typically completed in cooperation with local companies. Two of the three semesters are theory semesters including a project; the third is dedicated to the Master's thesis. Students may also pursue parts of the programme or write their thesis abroad. A double degree option with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Malaysia is available. The programme can be completed entirely in English and is offered at OTH Regensburg in Regensburg, Germany.
