This programme prepares students to become licensed teachers in California. It leads to a preliminary teaching credential alongside a master's degree in as little as 18 months. Students complete coursework and clinical practice in one of three credential areas: multiple subject, single subject, or education specialist. The programme offers both online and in-person formats with structured start dates throughout the year.

The programme consists of two phases. Phase I includes 23-29 units of coursework and 10 units of clinical practice, leading to a preliminary teaching credential. Phase II adds 7-13 units of master's-level coursework for a total of 48 units.

Graduates qualify to work as elementary school teachers, middle or high school teachers, or special education teachers in California.

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution and have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0. Those below 3.0 may apply under an exceptions policy. Official transcripts, a personal essay, and two professional recommendations are required.

The programme totals about 48 credit hours. Online and in-person delivery; full-time study; typical duration 20 to 30 months. For international students, tuition is well below the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 82% of applicants.
