The programme focuses on applying educational theory to classroom practice through research-based instruction. Students develop expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and addressing diverse learner needs. The programme supports professional growth for certified teachers seeking advanced qualifications. It includes a capstone project grounded in classroom-based action research.

The programme requires 30 credits, with 12 credits in required professional courses, 12 to 18 credits in subject area specialization, and 6 credits in an inquiry and instructional project. Courses are offered in evenings during the school year and during daytime or evening sessions in the summer.

Graduates enter roles as licensed reading teachers, Waldorf school educators, or classroom specialists with advanced instructional expertise.

Applicants must hold a teaching license from Wisconsin or another state. Required materials include official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a career goals statement, and a copy of the teaching license. Applications are reviewed after all materials are received.

The programme totals about 30 credit hours. On-campus, part-time, with evening and summer course options; typically completed in two to three years. For international students, tuition is below the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 93% of applicants.
