Master in Control, Computer and Communications Engineering (CCCE)

Gießen, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Control, Computer and Communications Engineering (CCCE) Master of Science programme covers theoretical and application-oriented knowledge across three engineering disciplines: control engineering, computer engineering, and communications engineering. The programme's central focus is on the synergies between these fields, particularly in the development of safety-critical, networked, and intelligent electrical systems that operate under constraints related to sensors and actuators, communication protocols, signal processing, and energy efficiency. Running over three semesters and totalling 90 credit points, the programme opens in both winter and summer semesters at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. Students may choose to specialise in one of the three named disciplines or follow a generalist path with no fixed specialisation. Compulsory modules are structured around problem-based learning, where students work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams on research tasks drawn from areas such as IoT, Industry 4.0, smart systems, smart grids, and electromobility. An optional industrial internship is available in the second semester, and the final semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis and defence. The programme was re-accredited by ASIIN Düsseldorf in 2018 and is currently undergoing re-accreditation for the 2025 winter semester. It is taught in English and based at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences in Friedberg (Hessen), Germany.
