Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy

During the programme you attend roughly 42 days of on-campus teaching and complete a supervised clinical placement, where you apply theory to real client work, develop case formulations and practice interventions under supervision.

The course is aimed at health and social care practitioners – nurses, allied health professionals, psychologists, counsellors and social workers – who already work in mental health or community settings and want to deepen their CBT-based psychotherapy skills.

It is delivered over a calendar year (September–September) as a full-time postgraduate diploma comprising six mandatory modules that cover therapeutic communication, anxiety and depression, complex presentations, third-wave approaches, research skills and professional practice. A second year option leads to a Master of Health Science with a research module and dissertation.
