Introduction

Iona University brings together more than 4,000 students in a diverse community shaped by the values of justice, peace and service. The university began in 1940 and follows the educational tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers. Its alumni network includes 55,000 graduates around the world. Iona became a university in 2022 as its academic programs expanded.

Students can choose from 45 undergraduate majors, more than 35 minors, graduate degrees and advanced certificates. Iona’s 45-acre New Rochelle campus and 28-acre Bronxville campus are four miles apart and connected by car or the Gael Express shuttle. New Rochelle offers modern facilities, while Bronxville has historic character and a downtown with shops, cafés and restaurants. Both campuses are a short train ride from New York City. Students can also explore Iona’s campus in Westport, Ireland, where classes take place at historic Westport House on a 400-acre estate. Campus life includes athletics, student clubs, volunteering and performances.
