The Biochemistry Major provides key chemical knowledge, lab skills, and problem-solving abilities to tackle biological challenges on a molecular level. Students develop creativity, independent thinking, and communication skills using advanced lab tools, participating in research, and gaining experience through guaranteed internships and co-ops. This program is a concentration within a larger degree.

Focus areas include Pre-Medical (MD), Pre-Physician Assistant (PA), Pre-Dental (DMD), Pre-PharmD.

Graduates are prepared for graduate study or careers as a Biochemist, Biomedical Scientist, Chemical Engineer, Clinical Researcher, Environmental Scientist, Toxicologist, Biotechnology Researcher, or Physician Assistant.
